Recently, Very Useful Theatre Company President, Paul Bath, stopped into the Newmarket Food Pantry recently to present the organization with a donation cheque for $1,250 raised from proceeds collected at the 2021 Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays. The company was able to raise these funds for the community food hub organization despite imposed attendance restrictions.

The Newmarket based charity’s mission is to not only facilitate and promote live theatre opportunities – as the N.I.F.O.A.P.s – but to also raise funds for local causes such as the food bank.

The company is currently receiving and reviewing plays for consideration for the 2022 One Act Play Festival which is slated to run September 8,9,10 & 11, at Newmarkets Old Town Hall Theatre and hopes once again to host plays before both live and live-stream audiences. Aspiring and accomplished playwrights alike are encouraged to enter their one act plays for consideration at oneactplayfestival.com before Jan 31.
