Submission Guidelines
Please review the following guidelines before submitting your one-act play to the Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays:
One Submission Per Playwright
Due to the volume of submissions we typically receive, we ask that each playwright submit only a single entry.
Play Length
Plays should be between 20 and 45 minutes in length.
Permission for Live Streaming and Archiving
Productions will be live streamed as well as performed on stage. Past productions will be archived on our Facebook page and YouTube.
By submitting, playwrights agree to allow their plays to be live streamed, and archived on our social media pages.
Do NOT submit works which you aren’t willing and able to allow live streamed performances of, and for those performances to be made available indefinitely on social media.
Submission Materials
Please include the following materials with your submission:
* A complete script in PDF format
* A brief synopsis of the play (no more than 200 words)
* A list of characters
* A production history (if any)
* Contact information (name, address, phone number, email address)
Actor and Prop Requirements
Please keep in mind that the festival has limited resources for actors and props. Plays with minimal requirements are more likely to be selected.
Royalties
The playwright is responsible for securing all necessary rights and permissions for their play, including any royalties.
