FOR YOUNG THEATRE ARTISTS —-FREE WORKSHOPS
The Very Useful Theatre Company, producers of the Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays, are pleased to announce that our “VUTC Young Company” is now welcoming all young actors, directors, playwrights, musicians, choreographers, dancers, artists and creatives from Newmarket and the surrounding areas to attend our new and FREE virtual workshop series!
Over the course of the workshops, young artists, lead by Kira Rosenbloom the Artistic Director of the VUTC Young company, will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles in creating, staging, directing and producing a 20 minute musical that will be showcased at the 2022 Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays. ALL creatives are invited to attend regardless of their skill level or experience. This workshop is intended to be a learning experience for all young artists, whether they are seasoned performers or someone exploring a new interest in the arts.
We are so thrilled to be introducing such a powerful program this year and even more excited to be creating new opportunities while empowering a new generation of artists. The Company can’t wait to see everyone at the workshops and are looking forward to creating something magical for this year’s Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays which runs Sept 8 -11 at Newmarket Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St..
Theatre Arts Workshop Dates:
– June 11th @ 9am-12pm: Writing, Directing & monologue/dialogue for plays activities
– June 19th @ 12pm-3pm: Writing, Music & monologue/dialogue activities
– June 25th @ 9am-12pm: Staging, Costumes, Play read through & dialogue activity
-June 26th @ 12pm-3pm: Youth Workshop play auditions & first rehearsal
