A New Yorker and a tourist from overseas meet on the Staten Island Ferry. The tourist wears a colorful scarf and has lots of questions. The New Yorker has a secret and only some of the answers. They meet again a year later, only this time the tourist is the one with the secret. Nineteen years later, the tourist’s daughter finds the New Yorker and gives him her mother’s scarf — and a pear.

Synopsis: Ira suddenly meets his grandma, Yetta, again after fifteen years and slowly begins
to realize he is on the threshold of the Other Side. Under Yetta’s questioning, Ira he begins to
unfold the story of the car accident that brought him there. In the meantime, two rescue
workers and Ira’s wife, Carla, oversee operations to get the car out of the ditch and Ira out of
the car. Though they cannot see and hear Ira and Yetta, Ira and Yetta can see and hear them,
eliciting discussion of some of Ira’s earthly challenges, including tensions with Carla.
Throughout, Ira is tempted by the glowing light, fantastic colors, and ethereal music, and
believes he has a choice whether to stay or go back. Yetta shows he has another think
coming.

Eloise has died of the measles, but Ava has a plan to bring her back to life and use her to increase American vaccination rates, thereby ensuring she will be accepted to every Ivy League school to which she applies. All she needs is the help of Hazel (whose great-great-great-whatever grandmother was a witch) and Parker (whom Eloise has been in love with since fifth grade, and without whom she refuses to participate in Ava’s plan).

In the play, A 40-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl document their illicit relationship, going back and forth between a police department three years ago and a psychiatrist’s office in the present day.

As Nicholas sits in his living room, lamenting the writing and submission of his “worst poem ever” and promising to himself that he would never ever write poetry, Corstreil arrives. She claims to be a higher spirit and thinks Nicholas is not a human, but Sepi, her Excavate (a spirit out of a deceased human) boyfriend, whom Corstreil has been searching for all eternity. Corstreil wants to drag Sepi out of Nicholas’s human body and
get married to him, even if it means killing Nicholas’s human self! Nicholas must reveal his deepest human nature to prove that he is indeed Nicholas, a human, and not a spirit hiding in and using his body.

Two long-time friends in a hospital waiting room use humour and old Cosmopolitan magazines to distract from their fear as they await the results of a breast biopsy. Beneath the jokes , anxieties about aging, marriage, illness and loss surface. Ultimately the play affirms the resilience and life-saving power of female friendship.

SUICIDE BLONDES is an existential comedy-drama about the afterlife. It is inspired by NO EXIT by Sartre as well as STEAMBATH by Bruce Jay Friedman. There are 6 characters (5 female and 1 male voiceover). All five of the female characters are blonde celebrities who have taken their own lives and are in limbo, awaiting a final judgment.

HELEN is in her thirties, attractive. Tough at times and yet vulnerable at times.
JAKE is in his mid-forties – looks like he lived a hard life.
He too is tough at times, yet sensitive at times.
SHERIFF is in his in his thirties to fifties, all business.
ELAINE is a shrew, not nice at all,in her fifties.

SYNOPSIS:

Helen is alone in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. A strange man, Jake, enters her cabin and refuses to leave. An announcement on the radio states that an escaped convict is on the loose. She tries to get rid of Jake who refuses to leave. She finally gets the upper hand on Jake and hides as the Sheriff comes to door, followed by Jake’s wife, Elaine. It turns out there is no escape.

In Maybe Tomorrow, middle-aged college literature professors Michael and Ellen are friends and colleagues. Michael, a widower, invites Ellen, who has never married, to a family get-together, concerned that she not be alone for the July Fourth holiday. The play begins with Ellen sitting on a bench in the woods in the early evening and reading an email from Phil, whom she has been “dating” and who communicates that he has eloped with his doctoral candidate Kerri while on an archaeological dig in Montana. Ellen does not know that Michael knows that Phil has gotten married. Ellen tries to hide her feelings of being upset from Michael. Michael reveals that his marriage to his late wife, Janet, was stressful and unhappy. Ellen asks Michael why it seems that she always is attracted to men who are afraid of making a commitment, and Michael responds that perhaps it’s because Ellen is unafraid to make a commitment herself. Ellen becomes angry with Michael, and he reveals that he is in love with her, taking her completely by surprise. They both reveal that they have long felt an attraction to each other, but were afraid to reveal their feelings because Michael was married. After some banter, they both tell each other how much they are attracted to each other. Michael asks Ellen if he can kiss her; their first kiss is awkward, but they kiss again and the intensity and depth of their feelings are revealed. Michael asks if he can kiss her again, and she responds, “Maybe tomorrow.” The play closes with Michael and Ellen watching the fireworks.

Jerusalem 40AD. MEMORY is a slave with a mental condition resembling hyperthymia (total recall of all life events and conversations). Memory is owned by JUNIA, the wife of a Roman aristocrat and sister to SAUL. JUNIA wants to be known as an historian and is attempting to write a history of Jewish cults such as Nazarites and Baptists (Dippers). JUNIA sends MEMORY to interview the surviving followers. SAUL attempts to steal her work to aid his persecutions.

In a struggling small town desperate for a miracle, eccentric Professor Winslow unveils a shocking discovery—the last living Quimbly, a rare and completely invisible creature that could put their town on the map. As skepticism turns to hysteria, belief becomes unstoppable, leading to bizarre rituals, mass chaos, and one mayor’s desperate attempt to stop the madness before it’s too late. But in a world where perception is reality, does it even matter if the Quimbly is real?

time. Romeo (the son of lesbians) and Jules (the child of
Evangelical Christians) meet in geometry class. Afterwards,
Jules shares his secret. Her legal name is Juliet, and his
mother does not know he’s a boy. They fall in love quickly,
giving Jules the courage to tell his mother the truth. It goes
horribly wrong, and Jules prepares to commit suicide, but Romeo
comes to his rescue.

Synopsis: Katelyn is a young woman who has to struggle through one day of being without her cell phone. She navigates the day without a phone while taking the train and dealing with work issues at the office. The absence of her phone is making her miserable until there is an unexpected meeting with a stranger on the train ride at the end of the day. 

: Marcus is a professional writer going through a severe writer’s block. He tries everything to get the juices flowing but no go. Then he is visited by three of his characters that he created. Each character has come to convince Marcus to pick up their story and it will break his writer’s block. First, not sure how to take this surprise he panics and has to be calmed down. After a while with his characters they help him break his writer’s block.

Today, Tom Thomson’s paintings sell for millions of dollars, but his mysterious death on a sunny day on Canoe Lake on July 7th, 1917, remains unsolved. Was his death an accident? Murder? Suicide? In the last week of his life, Thomson learns that his lover, Winnie Trainor is pregnant, is offered his first solo exhibition, and struggles to collect a loan.

Alex, a bail bondsman from Las Vegas, is taking Tony, a mob accountant, across country to his new life and identity under witness protection. They spend the night on the side of the road in the middle of the New Mexico desert among the dangers of the desert life, and learn some interesting truths about themselves and each other.

In the first scene, Charlotte and the heartbroken, tipsy Katie talk on a rainbow-painted bench about Richard leaving Katie at the altar, revealing Charlotte is bisexual before antisemitic strangers vandalize the bench and Katie finds brief comfort with another man.
In the second scene, the bench bears football team colors as Richard is rejected by his ex Margareth, told to do better, and quickly moves on to someone new.
In the third and fourth scenes, the bench becomes split in color as Charlotte clashes with a hungover football fan, Katie and Charlotte are driven away, and Richard later pretends not to recognize Katie while admitting he wanted Charlotte.
In the fifth scene, beneath a large STOP LGBTQIA sign, Charlotte and the football fan confront each other again, ending in a violent assault enabled by Richard.
In the final scene, Katie wakes on the colorful bench to learn it was all a drunken dream—until the football fan reappears and begins repainting the bench once more.

A successful playwright and his estranged actress ex-wife, both struggling with creative block and fear of failure, bicker and clash as they try to overcome their challenges in this witty, sophisticated comedy.

Ornah and Cal are sharing an easy camaraderie in the trenches of early parenthood when a television report on a rape that took place ten years before in the basement of a college dorm intrudes into their evening.Their conversation and interactions until just before their very last exchange of dialogue, sometimes directed to the audience, are played with a vaudevillian comedic energy that belies the serious nature of what is happening between them, fueled by a manic level of exhaustion and a growing unease about how well they know each other. They are highly physical, with outsized gestures, affectionate, with a sexual push and pull and sexual and at times a tension that expresses a dangerous edge between them.

The Cafe on Main is a love letter to community and love. Two couples. one young and one older, explore love in a magical cafe run by a world wise proprietor who has seen it all unfold at one table over the years.

In Police Procedural, Jaworski, possibly a Chicago cop (though this becomes less and less likely
as the play unfolds), arrives at the scene of what he assumes to be a homicide, only to find
nothing under the sheet that usually conceals a body. Concerned that there’s been foul play,
Jaworski frantically tries to prove that something, anything happened. And yet more and
more, as Jaworski accumulates a complete lack of evidence, as witnesses really and truly
prove they’re as clueless as the detective, it seems as if the thing that never happens finally
did: nothing. A parody of police procedural movies and TV shows (especially Law & Order),
Police Procedural explores what happens when we come face to face with the abyss.

In the aftermath of The Calamities, a tiny remnant of survivors takes refuge in the ruins of an old convent. Their mission: to restore the Mother Tongue to pristine purity and perpetuate the writings of three 19th century writers: Mary Shelley, Mary Seacole, and Mary Antin — known hereafter as The Marys, a matriarchal Trinity with the wisdom to re-make a ravaged world. When a lone scrounger plants herself on the convent’s doorstep, the survivors’ rigid beliefs and way of life are thrown into chaos.

Greg and Jeff are university lecturers who meet during a night out, and then run into each other a few days later on campus. A multi-decade spanning drama, “Her Love, Endures” follows two friends, from their meeting in high school, throughout the rest of their lives. Weddings, births, and deaths… all the moments that form a life. It is a celebration of friendship.

The two conspire together to create a business that won’t die, even if some of the guests might already be dead…

The Big Sneeze (or Much Achoo About Nothing) is a romantic comedy that attempts to answer the question: Can a fractured rib mend a broken heart? A backstage romance between assistant stage manager Pam and Touchstone, played by Larry, seems to be brewing. But Larry is nervous, and a backstage sneeze only makes matters worse. Blue Moon Rising is a tense claustrophobic two-hander. A young woman confronts an older man. One of them is a killer. Who will win?

In January 1967, writer/participatory journalist George Plimpton dreamed up a publicity stunt for heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali. He arranged for him to meet Marianne Moore, decorated American poetess – a showman who creates doggerel rhymes, together with one of the finest true poets in the history of the English language. The pair couldn’t be more opposite – He a gigantic, athletic man of color, at his physical peak, age 25, not formally educated, a Muslim, loud, charismatic, a showman with the burgeoning edge for social causes and advocacy; She, elderly, age 80, pasty white, doggedly Presbyterian, incredibly well educated, shy, frail and a kind of dowager spinster. Ali’s poems, so called, which predicted his fights, were little more than expanded limericks. Moore’s balletic verses and images won her the Pulitzer Prize, the National Medal in Literature and almost the Nobel Prize. Their host that day, Toots Shor, was a rough New York man of Jewish descent, who rubbed elbows, hosted, drank with, and incurred the wrath of entertainment giants of the first two-thirds of the 20th Century: Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin, Ernest Hemingway, Joe DiMaggio, Marilyn Monroe, etc. The meeting only lasted a few minutes and produced a short poem, “On the annihilation of Ernie Terrell,” Ali’s next title foe. The playwright has expanded the meeting in a deeper way, as a one-act play, using snippets of Moore’s poetry to frame the time, Ali’s immediate and lasting appeal through his pithy quotes uttered over two decades, and foreshadowing his thoughtful future self.

Josephine Rogers Ward is the rightful heir of the Ward family fortune — or is she? Her cousin Hutch claims that since Jo transitioned to female, the estate, historically entailed to a male heir, is actually his. Thus, Jo is confronted with the prospect of denying who she is in order to claim the birthright.

Caught up in the conflict are Jo’s fiancé, Carl Elsner and Hutch’s live-in girlfriend, Amy Fayerweather, who must bring Jo and Hutch to a compromise of mutual self-interest or see the possible dissolution of the Ward family estate at the hands of the Court.

Time To Go takes place in a futuristic retirement community called Presidential City, exploring themes of aging, community, and the concept of life and death within an authoritarian environment. In this world, at age 50 everyone is required to enter a retirement community, a community they can’t ever leave.

Remi is a new resident exploring the facilities and runs into Gabe, gatekeeper of The Pool – a strong mixture of chemicals for when someone decides it is time to go. The characters share personal histories that reveal their struggles with loss, regret, and the search for meaning in their lives.

We watch several people “leave,” including Gabe, finally having found his replacement.

Two married gay men have a cat named Ariel, who’s been meowing too much lately. What is the cat saying, and how does its meowing relate to their complicity in terrible things happening overseas?

Yellow” – Synopsis
Natalie is a shy, average looking woman who has fallen deeply in love with her
extremely handsome and popular coworker, Roger. Understanding that he has no idea of
her feelings, she resolves to tell him, but loses courage in the process. Somehow Roger
gets the idea that Natalie is suffering from terminal cancer, a misinterpretation she does
nothing to correct.

Brief Synopsis: A young woman, Thelma, seems to be helping a man write a story. In the story, set in a park just outside an amusement park, Thelma encounters three different men [each played by the same actor] In the play she struggles to create a future for herself.

A lonely businessman encounters a misshapen man during his daily walks to the train station, and discovers the true meaning of beauty.

TJ has stolen Mrs. Ferria’s landscaping stones to create a magical “Stonehenge” in the backyard to surprise Kendra. This “Stonehenge” is an apology for ruining their trip to the real Stonehenge. Mrs. Ferria just wants things to stay the same, in her yard and her life. But the stress of caring for an aging relative is getting to be too much for Jude. These “magic” stones will bring out truth, love and hopefully some understanding.

The story captures the herculean effort that families go through to try and save their children. The story is my story, compelled and inspired by its pain and is meant to raise awareness of the brain disease and promote understanding and compassion for the afflicted as well as their families.

Flirtations and misunderstandings snowball as the volunteers become onstage foils in the bar’s controlled chaos.
In the end, the audience decides whether Jake and Dian seal the night with a kiss — so last call belongs to the crowd.

Through wit, absurdity, and unexpected tenderness, the circus becomes a metaphor for love’s risks and rewards. As Wankie reveals his own regrets, Ruby learns to reframe fear not as a warning, but as part of the leap itself. Reclaimed by courage, she returns to her wedding ready to choose love and say “I do.”

Match.Commoner is a humorous play that takes place in a bar on Ladies Night, where King Henry VIII asks the bartender to help him find women. Or as he puts it, “I’m looking for a maid to wed, and maybe one more for to bed.” The bartender first suggests Mary Boleyn, and later, her sister, Anne. All the while, Catherine of Aragon, King Henry’s first wife, warns the women of the danger if they accept the King’s advances. The piece is written entirely in Dr. Seuss rhyme.

When she reaches Grandma’s cabin, the confrontation reveals long-standing compromises, strategic cookie bribes, and an exhausting cycle of survival. Ultimately, the story asks what it takes to stay alive -and sane – when you’re trapped inside a narrative that keeps trying to eat you.

Ending a stale relationship is easiest if a dramatic event, such as infidelity, spurs the process. But when a relationship has no such drama, then drama must be manufactured. Allison and Ben find it difficult to admit that their once-torrid love affair is at an end. When a shooting at the neighborhood school reveals their different worldviews, their friend Clark exploits the situation for his own purposes, and Allison and Ben progress inexorably toward the most conclusive way to end their relationship.

Cut Time is a new one-act play based on a real-life letter written from my 5th grade self to my graduating high school self. The play deals with navigating love, family, trauma, and writing—all while under a pressure cooker time limit of 30 minutes.

Escape is about a forklift operator at a Factory in Long Island in the year 2030 who is trying to save her co-workers from the damages of a hurricane. The factory is about to close down and move, and the owners are concerned with the deadline for the moving schedule rather than the safety of their employees. She alerts the press and her local Congressman, and after her shift is over, returns and gets a plane to land on the island where her co-workers are stranded. Her daughter, a champion swimmer, drowned in the waters of her area, and the hurricane claims the life of her husband. It reveals how turning a blind eye and ear to the environment can destroy the environment.

Left alone in their jeep by their driver, and near sunset, these bright women know it’s dinnertime for the thousands of hungry game animals that surround them. How will they survive, who’s in charge, and can the smell of coffee grounds actually deter a ravenous pride of lions? Is it possible for these four sisters, sitting alone in the Kalahari Desert out of their comfort zones, find a way to work together and survive? And, how old is too old to start over?

Pocket Universe is a one-act dramedy set in a late-80s suburban basement filled with relics no one is ready to let go of. Casey, guarded and capable, returns to clear out their childhood home after their father’s death, joined by Riley, a funny and impulsive best friend whose help quickly becomes emotional excavation. When Casey’s sibling Morgan arrives with paperwork and long-buried truths, the clean-out exposes what the family hid during their mother’s long illness. Objects like a dad-joke-filled cootie catcher, a working flip phone, and hidden hospital mementos reveal years of quiet care and unfinished connection. In the end, Casey chooses to reach back instead of staying silent, leaving a message that reopens love rather than closing it away.

Afterlife Home depicts how AI, under our control, can affect not only our daily lives but also those that came before us.

Early in the game, long before Cloud can battle Vapor, our hero must travel through the town of Cumulous… This play has nothing to do with any of that. Instead, it is about two random nonplayer characters (NPCs) who happen to reside in Cumulous.

A Happy Child is a dark, poetic monologue told from the perspective of a five-year-old boy whose parents have been executed. Over the course of a single day, he moves through his village, trying to understand events using the logic of childhood, where soldiers are “guests” and violence is just adult work. Searching for “his own people,” he encounters fear, silence, and destruction. Objects and rituals—candies on a Christmas tree, toys, a school planner—become his anchors as he carefully records the day. Through the child’s unprotected voice, the play reveals how war and state violence become normalized and how survival begins with misunderstanding.

MALLORY TALBOT and her chaotic family are visiting her grandmother’s grave when a freak lightning storm changes their lives forever, leaving only MALLORY to bargain with the cemetery’s manager, BEATRIX. In a darkly comedic exchange, MALLORY narrowly escapes a deal with the devil, embracing herself and her family along the way.

and his Ph.D. student, Elise, are running an experiment utilizing The Ultimatum Game. Elise
interacts with the participants, while Berger records events through a two-way mirror. Tonight’s
participant is Brandon. Brandon doesn’t remember Elise, but Elise recognizes Brandon from a
traumatic, drunken hook-up years ago. Berger views their interaction as career-defining data,
whereas Elise is horrified her private life will be replayed for academic audiences. She attempts to
destroy the recordings. When Berger resorts to force, Elise fights back and wins the day.

Echoes of Blackness through Unbroken Lines is a one-person play tracing the physical pressures imposed on a political activist under authoritarian rule. Through confinement, interrogation, and enforced silence, the performance examines how fear is manufactured, language controlled, and resistance sustained. play about performance as survival, and the terror of silence when it ends, that feels
uncannily of our time.

It is a minimalist, emotionally charged piece for one actor.

WISHFUL THINKING, a comic mystery, explores one couple’s signs from the universe. Bill and Annette, a young couple in love, experience one weird coincidence after another. However, because neither Bill nor Annette can read the “signs,” they meet a tragic end, and we discover how the hereafter gives you exactly what you wish for, whether you really wanted it or not.
